Anti-stalking Webinar & Advocacy

We collaborated with anti-stalking advocate Zeni Gibson and Awatea Mita of Te Wāhi Wāhine o Tāmaki Makaurau to host a virtual kōrero focused on the Crimes Legislation (Stalking and Harassment) Amendment Bill. This interactive Zoom session aimed to educate participants on the proposed legislation and guide them in crafting impactful submissions to the Justice Committee. The event highlighted the urgent need for stronger legal protections against stalking and harassment, particularly for women, Māori, and marginalized communities. Through open discussion and practical support, the webinar empowered attendees to actively engage in the legislative process and advocate for safer, more inclusive laws.

We connected with Zeni Gibson upon hearing of her years long ordeal with stalking - we were able to work with her to advocate for simple changes to Public Service Systems which could prevent the use of Ministry websites for stalking purposes.
